Mk, just so you all know - Tuesday the 20th of May was Josephine Baker day. If you don't know whom she was then look her up, she's an important African-american and an important woman in her own right.

 

On Josephine Baker Day we celebrate the life of an inspired dancer and a dedicated woman who loved animals - even to her own detriment. Even when her fortune was gone, she insisted on caring for animals she couldn't afford by enlisting everyone she knew to donate.

 

Josephine Baker was a woman in search of love and inspired by art. In the end, like all great artists she was loved more for what she could give, than what she was. Her story was in some ways tragic but in every way inspirational.
